Troubleshooting
Need help installing an antenna or getting your channels to come in more clearly? We can help. Below we have listed some of the most common issues and how to correct them.
My TV isn't recognizing my antenna.
This can happen for a number of reasons. Since we can’t be sure which type or brand of antenna you are using, it is best to consult the manufacturer.
The channel I want to view isn't on my channel list.
Check the TV District website to verify the channel is available. Then re-scan your TV.
I just bought a new TV and it isn't recognizing the Elko TV District channels like my old one did.
Check the settings of the TV through the Menu program, and make sure you are scanning for Digital TV channels.
My signal just disappeared.
Check the power and make sure the TV did not experience a power bump and shut off. If the TV is working and you are receiving other channels, then report the outage by clicking on “Report an Outage” at the top of this page.
Rescan your TV. This needs to be completed regularly and at times multiple rescans are required to obtain the best signal.
Due to outside influences, the signal can become degraded and lost. Additionally, TV stations and the TV District may have to adjust settings for the broadcast signal. For these reasons, channels must be scanned regularly and at times multiple rescans are required to obtain the best signal.
